No, I'm sure there are rational people there who would immediately see the advantages of joining me. You see, I studied history, it simply fascinates me, and the rise of Genghis Khan is a perfect example of what I want to accomplish there.
Until Genghis came into power, there were lots of Mongol clans who raided, robbed and occasionally fought with each other, the warlords would usually receive the lion's share from the looting and the warriors were left with the scraps. Genghis changed everything and would split the loot equally. He fought with other tribes and instead of killing the captured leaders, he offered them the opportunity of joining him. This way he quickly united all the clans and built a huge empire.
I want to apply this exact same strategy there - I would divide the profits equally with all the associates and wouldn't kill other captured cartel leaders, but instead allow them to join my organization.
Which cartel do you think people would want to work for? One that pays little, kills and tortures or one that pays more and is more humane and merciful?

Horrible comparison and example, especially if you are the leader of your own cartel since you will 100% get backstabbed. The people in (At least the Mexican) cartel are ruthless sociopathic incels in denial who will kill anyone, including themselves in order to get their way. Most of them are ugly motherfuckers who were most likely born out of a very poor family, and since they never had a Pelé-type ascension moment, they had to resort to a crime “family” in with they are stuck with forever. I know this because when I was a little kid in 2011, Los Zetas did a raid near a city where I used to live, and they outright killed innocent people out in public just to threaten a rival gang and give them “an idea” of what they would do to them. I don’t even care what they do or work for, and most of them are not movie badasses who get laid with senoritas due to status. Most of them are truecels with tattoo halo. You always have to keep a mind that looks matter as a requirement, and even if you are a “loco” statusmaxxed bad boy, if you are ugly asf people will see you as a nuisance.

I know this because when I was a little kid in 2011, Los Zetas did a raid near a city where I used to live, and they outright killed innocent people out in public just to threaten a rival gang and give them “an idea” of what they would do to them.

I would never do that, instead I would open soup kitchens, feed the poor, help people in need - this is what Al Capone or Escobar did and they were hugely popular with the poor people.

Well, you know that? Maybe... in a country like Peru or Bolivia this have the very slight 1% chance of working out. Which country? The problem mainly is that those countries aren't best for coke or weed production. Also society isn't so poor and justice system is much better. At the end it's more likely that you killed faster rather become a serious slayer
