All the time I see videos on Instagram and YouTube about the wonders of Creatine. Apparently it is the most researched supplement in the fitness industry and there is 0% doubt about its effectiveness. Now there are even people saying that creatine megadoses (10-15 grams) also have a mental/nootropic benefit to it. They say that if you sleep like shit and take a megadose of 15g+ of creatine then it's like your brain generates energy as if you slept properly.

At the same time, I've been taking creatine consistently for months and months, and I'm yet to feel any benefit from it.

I don't feel stronger. I don't see muscle growth. I don't feel more energized. I don't think it makes me workout harder. I don't feel my mind is sharper. I literally see and feel ZERO changes when taking creatine, even the "megadoses".

On top of all that, after you get on test you end up meeting/seeing a lot of dudes who are on gear, and a lot of them don't take creatine. I'm in a Whatsapp group with over 200 guys who are on gear and one of these days there was a creatine discussion and they even made fun of it.

All these things, combined, I feel like creatine is just a fakeass suplement pumped up by the supplement industry with the paid support from fitness industry people and doctors.

What do you think?

Have you read a single citation or study on it though? Before coming to the conclusion that creatine is a fake supplement for promotional purposes. This question is coming from someone who doesn't take shit, including protein powder. Creatine is not "magic" from what I have read, it's true benefits and strongest evidence is for small to moderate improvements in high-intensity performance and particular strength training adaptions. It's not going to give you the same effect as pinning, obviously. There was a study which demonstrated how creatine only partially reversed both metabolic changes and fatigue related decline with cognition during 21 hours of sleep deprivation.

You yourself might get no benefit from it. I might do, but I'll never know. But is definitely is a real supplement, which is also overmarketed.
