No, it’s much better than that. The side quests are all carefully thought out.
Main story is very strong as well.

RDR 2 has a much stronger story, despite its flaws.

It’s good once Johnny silverhand is introduced which takes a minute. Some of the missions are pretty boring but there are also some really great ones. I’d rate the game 7/10

And I loved RDR 1 when it came out.
