I’m 23, did wildlife conservation at uni but failed (depression, Covid lockdowns). Currently wageslaving at a warehouse. Easy but boring, shit pay and can’t see myself doing it long term. Need a comfy office job that I can also do remotely so I can geomax. Already dabbled in IT before as a support admin apprentice solving tickets but decided it wasn’t for me. Digital marketing sounds like it won’t be boring and I can be creative with it. Is it a worthwhile career?

I was a IT support admin apprentice on the helpdesk when I was 19 and it was so boring. Digital marketing would be way more interesting plus if I ever start my own business I would have marketing knowledge. Also I'm pretty sure marketing would give me more opportunities to meet women compared to most IT roles that are just filled with stemcels.

The IT apprenticeship? Yes it is better than what I’m doing now. I made a mistake dropping out the apprenticeship however I was failing all the exams because my employer wasn’t teaching me the content on the specifications so I wouldn’t have earned my certification which made me angry so I walked out from the job. I was a stupid teenager. Now I am 23 and have been in and out of shitty construction and warehouse jobs I realise now that I should have appreciated what I had. For now I will continue working my warehouse job because it’s easy but in the meantime I will research on how I can get into digital marketing without a degree.

23 over over OVER

By 23 if I was a normie I’d have just finished my Masters at LSE, Oxbirdge, LBS or Cass and went on to do whatever top job there is in tech like networking or go into IB/Consulting

I have worked in construction, factories and warehouses. I’ve seen 60 year old men do back breaking work for a living. I refuse to end up as one these men. It may be over but I have to try somehow so I don’t end up having regrets

Did you not go uni?

even if it's your "dream job" currently, it will eventually get boring.
