I remember seeing a documentary about London it was far paradise in the 90s and early 2000s. It had high crime rate and gang activity in Brixton, Hackney and Tottenham. Drugs and knife crimes were also there but much less than they are now.

Yes, England is still very much a high income first world country, especially in London

That does not mean that it is one of those ultra high income countries like Norway and Switzerland where everyone has a good quality of life, there are alot of deep rooted and really bad problems
