Ever since covid my body comp has been complete shit. I am 5'11 and weigh 168 at 25-28% BF. Very little muscle mass. Gyms are JUST now opening up again and I'm planning an Ostarine cycle in probably 6 months when I get my numbers back up (used to squat 225, bench 135, DL 315, I know-not great but better than my numbers now). I need to gain around 20 lbs of muscle to be 170 at 12% BF but I want to start bulking at a lean state as I'm already fat at this point.
Every time I try to do a 500cal deficit I feel miserable and hungry all the time. I've tried intermittent fasting and feel like shit as well.
Fasting (only water/black coffee) for like 3 days then feeding for 4 is honestly bearable for me and it allows me to eat higher quality foods/adequate calories to satisfy on the days that I do eat and still remain in a weekly calorie deficit.
I honestly don't have much muscle to lose at this point, is fasting worth it?
