is forsus appliance even worth it?

I have an 8mm overbite and have been wearing elastics for some months and my orthodontist told me he had planned for me to wear them for a year. I told him some bs story about my elastics falling out while I was sleeping and if there were possibilities to change the elastics out for forsus. he looked at me concerned and told me to try wearing my elastics overnight till my next appointment (in 3 weeks) and if the issue hasnt been resolved till there he would consider giving me forsus. He sounded mad talking about that mentioning that I really dont need forsus because elastics would be enough and that it would be a waste of money because my insurance wouldnt cover it (I dont even have insurance btw my parents are paying for everything). He told me that it would cost 400€ to get them installed. ive seen several people e.g. @Clouds006 (chadriguez) change their whole life after getting forsus appliance so I thought it would be worth it. I need some advice on what my next course of action should be. If people are interested I can send a picture of my side profile (15yo recessed bosnian living in germany)

8mm isnt that brutal I think. I can still live an mtn live with it. the recession might have also gotten a tiny bit better from the elastics. chadriguez is an example of a brutal overbite. but he also got chin filler so I dont know. Im gonna pm u a pic

Yo, i have a pretty brutal overbite too, it's basically nearly lapping my lower teeth jfl. I think chadriguez had forsus appliance no? im also considering the same, but i think it might recess my already dogshit maxilla further.

Ive been kinda out of blackpill and havent really gone back but if you look at a more recent post ive talked about how ill naybe just stick to rubber bands since they literally have the same effect and wont make you look goofy or cost much but if your overbite is very severe you can get forsus
