Is getting braces making you asymmetrical?

I been thinking about getting braces cuz of my teeth but I'm scared it's going to make me asymmetrical. I have an overbite too. Will it fix my overbite ? Will I get asymmetrical?

braces are made to make you look more symetrical, but there are some that can recess you. My knowledge in ortho is very limited tho
