Is getting into paediatric surgery a good idea?

I've been working in the paediatrics department for some time, including children's A&E and I am starting to enjoy working in that field.

Working in this department and seeing children leave with smiles on their faces after they are discharged just makes me a happy man. I won't give further details because I don't want this thread to be derailed into an inappropriate mess.

Get into it if you truly enjoy it. You can’t really chase money when it comes to medicine.

I was thinking plastic surgery before but I started to slowly change my mind after working with children and babies and their families and dealing with them plenty of times in A&E

Paediatrics could be pretty stressful as well, have you dealt with any bad kids or had negative experiences e.g. kid died?

Paediatrics could be pretty stressful as well, have you dealt with any bad kids or had negative experiences e.g. kid died?

Have yet to experience kids dying (thankfully) but I did have a few cancer patients here and there and one badly-behaved adhd boy who was a nightmare to deal with (came in with a broken leg)
