Is glicolic acid enough to fix acne?

It's hormonal acne, I think dermatologist knows better and that's what he prescribed me, but who knows

Thanks, I'm currently in flare after 1 week of using it, only problem I got sunburnt bad and had to stop for 3 days, now I restarted applying the gel on 3% for summer when September hits I'll go on 4%
