Stupid question ansewr is probably yes but I ask it anyway im not 100% sure.

Ik it doesnt hurt but how effective is it actually because I think I probably wont build much muscle anyway when i lose weight and I dont have much to lose as I didn't train much before. Can/Should I just start gym when I cut to low bf ?
idk much about this shit tbh but dont want to do it if its not worth the time put in

well you wont lose muscle as quickly as not going at all

I would say no. Yes the gym would help retain muscle but there is the risk it makes you think eating more is okay. When cutting, focus all your effort on maintaining a strong calorie deficit and afterwards you can think about muscle.

This was the thoughts i had too

Yes ofc. You will make very good progress as a newbie in terms of muscle. At the same time you will lose fat much faster.

I think I'll go a month an see what happens

Yes otherwise you’ll lose a lot of muscle. I still lift when cutting but I cut the volume by as much as half.
