A full-scale war in South Asia would force the US, Russia, and even others like Iran and the Gulf states to pick sides. Nothing is going to happen realistically. If India does go to war it will be hit with brutal sanctions from UN which I'm sure will affect it significantly but china's direct involvement I don't think so.
