this is literally true though. Memory and your knowledge/vocabulary are parts of your IQ. If you study hard at school, your IQ is probably going to raise as a result. It doesn't really matter if you can do the esoteric math that a high (130+) IQ is required for in most cases anyway.

Software engineering is a field that demands a higher than average IQ to properly imagine and design concepts in your head. But with proper studying and brute force someone with an average IQ (100) can still make it and compete with above average IQ ppl(115-120)

IQ is largely genetic. Prenatal environment and environment during development in the first few years of life are the most important non-genetic factors. Technically, because IQ is measured through tests, you can increase IQ by practicing skills which improve your test score. (I made all this up but it sounds realistic, I am too lazy to look into it)
