is it a bad sign if I get asked for ID when buying alcohol (beer and wine)

the minimum purchasing age for beer and wine is 16 where I live and I am 24 but they still ask for my ID... So is this a bad sign? Do you get asked for ID

I don't like it whatever the case. I'm 36 and still get asked for ID. That might be a good thing where you're from but America's gay as heck. A 50 year old homeless person would get asked for ID here. Can't wait to be back in a country where a 5 year old could buy a 5th of vodka and a pack of cigarettes. I hate rules so much.

They have to ask if you look younger than 25 in my country even though the age is 18
