My nose is long and I have a compact midface lol. Unless you're talking about literal height of the nose and not projection, which was what the person I was talking to meant by "long".

The problem is not in the long midface itself, the problem is

Lack of bones (...Zygos)
Bad IPD
Bulbous big nose
Long Philtrum
Short chin and Tall forehead
Narrow skull

Etc...

Short midface is not totally ideal, looks a bit childish in most of cases and the Ideal DOM face have a tall skull (Tyler Maher as a example) whatever, look at old photos of Native Americans and you will see why long midface makes shit and the person just lack other/every things.
