I’ve noticed that when I help people they just take what they want from me and forget about me

I'm sorry nigga but that's the worst advice I've ever heard . Rule of thumb I use is just helping certain family members no one else. The saying "no good deed goes unpunished is so true" . What makes u help them ?

The brainwashing that my parents instilled in me which I’m actually just now unlearning

Also I am naturally just the kind of the dude who likes to help people

But ngl life has just been eating away at that part of me
