If it's a pure coding job you are after it doesn't matter too much if you are targetting the top companies. Even if you don't have a degree they are the last to care as long as you can get shit done

The most important thing is Competitive Programming. Spend the next 3-4 years mastering Competitive Programming. Reach 1900+ rating on CodeForces. And you will never struggle to find work at Tech companies because you will dominate the coding interviews.

It will take lots of time input though. Expect to devote 10k+ hours over the next 4 years to it

Most companies here leaked that if you go to a school with no reputation you're not even gonna get an interview and they won't even bother to look at your CV, unless you have years of experience

For certain fields like Finance, that is often the case.

But for SWE, Competitive Programming skills and Projects are what mogs. There are many people from good colleges that have failed coding interviews because their CP skills suck.

Don't get me wrong, having a good college on your resume is helpful to have as it gets you more interviews and recruiters reaching out, but your priority should be on getting good at CP and projects.

Worst case scenario: You can do what the North Korean hackers do to get jobs in the US. Lie on your resume about your college
