As someone with contacts, no you don't get infections.

rarely happens to me and I’m not particularly careful about it. But here’s a tip when it happens: boil some water in a pan and put it on a table. Let is cool for a little bit until you can have your face over it without hurting, but with the water still evaporating. Now just put your face over it for a little while and it will kind of drain your eyes from the infection. Maybe it sounds stupid it that’s what I’ve done over the years and it always worked super well. Sometimes I could barely open my eyes, then I would do this and I could open them like all the shit had been flushed out just by the water evaporating onto your face and eyes. Probably also helps it’s hot so it might kill the bacteria idk but it works for me. No you won’t burn your face or anything, if it’s too hot just wait a bit longer still and don’t be an idiot
