Is it illegal to buy US manufactured drugs on the deep web?

I know that buying controlled substances that come from outside of the US is a felony because then ur paying for international shipping of the drug, but is it illegal to buy drugs that are manufactured here in the US?

Of course possession of the drug is illegal so if the cops bust me with it on hand, its over. But just making the online transaction cant be a crime, is it?

Nobody gives a shit if you buy a package of some autism drug from the deep web. If it doesn't go through customs tho, it'll be destroyed. Maybe, depending on a country you may get a fine if the substance is very controlled.
