Nah, it's just an emotion that passes by so quickly ime that I would rank it next to a short length pleasure like jacking it off or something, no way of being grateful for a long time (unless you are actively lying to yourself about how grateful you feel for x, while you don't feel like that at all)

It's not supposed to loom over you forever lol just bc your grateful doesn't mean to have to kiss that person's ass forever. It's basically just acknowledging they did a good thing and your happy it happened

I reckon the answer is much more complex but I do agree it has to do with something from the base programming in our brains

I am not even talking about doing anything to/for that person to show that you are being grateful, I just meant the overall feeling you have in your heart, I just don't see gratefulness remaining there for a long time.
