Yeah, the first half was good because of style and tension, but once they had to resolve things it became incredibly stupid. So many good directors end up wasting talent on horror schlock like this because it’s the only way to market something slow and stylish, but their movies always turn stupid in the second half when they have to reveal a monster or the devil or some retarded horror shit — see every A24 movie.

Yea it always feel like that especially in horror because your imagination is always scarier than whatever they've written so it becomes a let down. Also horror (the supernatural ones anyways) are almost always "stupid" if ur always trying to rationalize every aspect in the story lol.

There’s good horror with devil worshippers, but it’s better set up and isn’t some stupid reveal that ties everything up in the last act. Rosemarys Baby works because it’s key to the plot. The reveal in Longlegs is just a cheap way to explain everything at the end. You’re hoping for something clever at the end and it’s just “the devil did it”

You're right. I guess the setup for like 90% of the movie with the letters and everything amounted to jack shit when they just revealed everything in the end like that.
