Yeah, ssris are terrible especially if you don't know how to utilise
 
your shitty shrink might not have told you this but titrating from a low dose to the prescribed dose can reduce side effects

I started at lowest dose 50mg Zoloft

Yes, for those who don’t get suicidal ideations. Ask your psychiatrist for a different class of anti-depressants.

SSRI/SNRIs are first line therapy but there are many more options. Stop taking it immediately though

stop taking it and at your next appointment ask for an MAOI or something, saying ssri's had not effect.

Nobody who is getting suicidal ideations from SSRI/SNRIs should continue taking them.

it's not advice. SSRIs absolutely do make you worse before they make you better. they disrupt whatever stability you might have had and it's a bit of a roller coaster until they start working. bro can ask his doctor and figure out how to proceed.

SSRI/SNRIs are not indicated for anyone that starts having suicidal ideations from them. When you reach that threshold is when you immediately discontinue the medication and look for an alternative.

They can make you worse before they make you better without causing you to have ideations. OP clearly doesn’t fit that description therefore he should immediately stop taking the SSRI

And it more or less is advice considering that you’re lulling the OP to keep taking a medication that he shouldn’t be. It’s established that he has suicidal ideations and you just rubber stamped it as a normal part of the SSRI journey lol

All I said is that SSRIs can make you feel worse before you get better, which is true. I'm not the one giving medical advice..

It's literally right in the drug info:

You should know that your mental health may change in unexpected ways when you take sertraline or other antidepressants even if you are an adult over 24 years of age. You may become suicidal, especially at the beginning of your treatment and any time that your dose is increased or decreased. You, your family, or your caregiver should call your doctor right away if you experience any of the following symptoms: new or worsening depression; thinking about harming or killing yourself, or planning or trying to do so; extreme worry; agitation; panic attacks; new or worsening anxiety; difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep; aggressive behavior; irritability; acting without thinking; severe restlessness; and frenzied abnormal excitement. Be sure that your family or caregiver knows which symptoms may be serious so they can call the doctor if you are unable to seek treatment on your own.

Obviously it’s in the package insert. Making you feel worse before you get better doesn’t include making you have suicidal ideations.

He’s on a starting dose of Zoloft and is having emergent ideations almost immediately after starting. Yes he should stop considering that the medication is the catalyst for it and the physician will also stop it considering the amount of treatment options out there.

Obviously he should talk to his doctor, and also immediately stop the medication

You have no idea what he means by "suicidal" or his history of suicidality.
