Is it normal that my arm didn’t change its size in 2 months?

I’ve been hitting my biceps twice a week and my triceps twice a week. My arm size stayed the exact same, 14.5. Despite the fact that I was eating in a surplus and 1 gram of protein per body weight. Does it take longer to see change in arm size?

Yes it's normal to plateau with size. 8 weeks is nothing in terms of building size.

It’s very disappointing. I am a step away from quitting gymming and going back to smoking and rotting.

you said you started off with 10 inch arms and are at 14 now. This should be keeping you motivated man even if you hit a plateau. Have you tried changing your workout routine?

yes
keep in mind that it's also harder to go from 14" to 15" than it is to go from 10" to 11"

arms are hard to increase but you should’ve noticed a little change
maybe you had pump first time you meassurred and now you’re meassuring without pump?

I don’t know what I should change honestly. 300-600 calories surplus daily, 130-200 grams of protein daily, 8 hours of sleep, 5-6 days a week working out. First day I may hit like biceps and back, second day maybe triceps and chest, third day maybe legs, calves and traps, fourth biceps and back again, fifth day chest and triceps etc.

I do 6-12 reps until failure and I don’t train sore muscles. What exactly do I change?

Both without a pump, but I may have been full of water two months ago. Who knows.

do 500+ calorie surplus and 180+ grams of protein
also do atleast 10 reps and sleep atleast 9 hours

How many sets did you do for both? If your regimen is trash you won’t see shit after newbie gains especially at arms

adding to 6'1cel's reply, simple tweaks to your workout can help you out a lot. Our bodies adapt easily so you can try to add exercises that you don't do or never done before.

I would say 4-5 sets for each muscle. Maybe 8 sets total.

I've been huge, in best shape in my life rn, dick skin shredded + rounded shoulders and 40"+ chest, 21-22" bideltoid, but my arms have been 14" since jan 2019. They might be 14.5" now idk.

You have to count in the compound movement sets. Whenever you train back for example biceps is activated too to a certain degree. Wat does your regimen look like? It‘s possible your arms don’t get enough rest. 4-5 sets a week is fine but if you train 3x with that volume it’s overkill.

Yes I always pay attention to which muscles are working and I don’t over do it. I train biceps 2 times a week max.

My chest is 43 currently lol.

If you’re really in an surplus, have enough protein and you sleep well you‘ll have to try out different things. More sets/ less sets but most importantly you should see that you increase weight with same form. Anyways arms don‘t grow that fast for most people,if you go another month with not 0.1 gain then switch it up.

Thank you. When I started lifting in august I was expecting to have at least 15-15.5 inch arms by march, I don’t know if I can reach that since my arms only grew 0.5 since august.

If you bulk relatively lean that would be crazy. Lots of people start with an insane surplus anf obviously gain that much but just getting fat doesn’t mean they gained. If you‘ve got normal genetics you’re more than fine just watch your weights and switch it up if you’re not gaining. From what i‘ve seen arms are the most individual of all muscle groups, some gain best with really low volume some need a lot.

And keep your expectations low I made this mistake over and over again, having crazy goals and then quitting when it’s not happening just leads to you training on/off and losing/gaining the same muscle ovr and ovr.

Been hitting arms 4-5 days / week for the past 5 weeks. Haven't measured, but little change

Many feel like that ones newbie gains stop but keep grinding and you'll get huge arms eventually. I mean a couple of more years from now it will feel like no time has passed and you will have big arms.

I already changed my mind. Even if I don’t build any size (which I will), I’m still staying healthy and avoiding low T by lifting.
