Is it normal to book a consultation with a surgeon without intending to use their services?

Rn I only have enough money to go for a consultation. I'm in the process of saving up more but I really want to know what's actually up with my eyes and get a professional opinion on how to address it, how it will cost etc. Is it ok to do that and do the surgeons pressure u into booking a procedure with them?? Or
