Is it ok to breakup if your partner is crushing on someone

My gf is crushing on a colleague from work. I heard this once "if you are crushing on someone while being in a monogamous relationship then you should chose the second one because you no longer love the first person". Is it time for me to read the writing on the wall and move on?
