Is it possible for someone to get shredded in their 40s without TRT?

Title. I see lots of oldcels coping with midlife crisis in my gym by bodybuilding but they see little to no progress. They generally have back pains, stiff neck and other problems when they try to lift heavy. Is it even possible to have a shred of athletism at that age? Surely it must be possible right? Tom Brady and Lebron James are still dominating their Leagues and they are both oldcels. Also I occasionally see oldcels who are somewhat ripped. They are rare tho and idk if they were on TRT.

If they are serious about it sure. Obviously not going to build muscle like someone who is 20 but whatever. Few jacked oldcels at my gym who started at like 38.

it is a lot easier to rebuild prior existing muscle then it is to build new muscle.
Lebron is only 38, Brady is retired and not particularly muscular. And both are beside the point because neither is remotely representative of the general population.
Just because you see guys in their 40s at your gym doing resistance training does not mean they are trying to be body builders. They are most likely just trying to maintain what they have left.

Is it possible for the average 40 something man, non former bodybuilder/ elite athlete, to build muscle natty? Yes, if you mean like 1 or 2 lbs of muscle a year. No, if you mean serious muscle.

eta: a general observation: old manlets seem to maintain and build muscle mass better than tall and average height men..

It is but it would be a lot harder as your test would have decreased quite a lot. No reason not to use TRT at that age anyway.

You hurt my feelings earlier.

You’re in your 40s? Your life didn’t go as planned, huh

Yeh you'll need it if you have no base and starting out now as I have never seen anyone beyond 40 who started lifting weight now and got jacked naturally

lot of middle aged and old guys at my gym - some jacked, some just fit
they all seem to enjoy it and they're always doing unconventional shit like i saw this one dude benching while doing leg raises :lul:

Lebron is on the best quality steroids, probably has a professional advising him too, not too sure about tom brady though but most athletes use PEDs
