but doesnt the lower jaw align with the growth of the upper jaw?
I think NOT
i mean i've seen people with maxillary deficiencies with large and wide lower jaws

you've seen someone with a narrow maxilla and a wide lower jaw? are you sure their maxilla just wasn't very forwardly grown?

what I think it is in most cases is that the jaw isn't narrow, it just looks narrow because of wide zygos. @Orc ?

you can't really tell it's going on, mouth is on the narrower side but it doesn't stand out that much anymore because it's not like my nose is big.

The lower jaw is significantly less influenced by environmental factors, making it largely determined by genetic predisposition. Thats what several orthodontists told me.

so the upper jaw is affected by environmental factors?

i have a theory that the reason some might look like they have a narrow lower jaw, despite having a wide palate, is because they have wide zygos. do you agree?

both are, idk what his orthodontics were on
Of course, both the upper and lower jaws are influenced by developmental processes and environmental factors. However, the lower jaw is typically more resilient and completes its development earlier. As a result, it is less susceptible to environmental influences compared to the upper jaw. Obviously it is still prone to change due to environmental factors but mandible shape and size usually are strongly hereditary.

Completely normal. What is your Intermolar width?
do I measure it at wisdom teeth? do I just bit something and measure the bite mark?

I don’t know tbh. Probably but that’s usual what they measure when evaluating palate width.
Maybe because many people don’t even have wisdom teeth anymore.
at wisdom teeth about 6cm
