i was thinking if i grew a long goatee and had a mustache it would make my chin appear longer which might help with my philturm to chin ratio, i don't like having any facial hair so if it won't help much i won't bother.

Yeah, a mustache can make it look a bit shorter
A goatee just makes your chin look longer. It might balance things a little, but it won’t really change the philtrum much.
If you don’t like facial hair, it’s probably not worth growing a whole goatee for that. A little mustache would help more.

You can mask yout philtrum with facial hair

create an illusion of longer chin with facial hair too, thats all there is to it
