Is it possible to see if spinal growth plates are open from the back?

So I got an Xray of my ribs for rib pain, but teh Xrays were from the back. None from the side, which appears to be how most determine the state of growth plates in the spine. Is it possible to see from the back or front?

Well I heard spine growth plates close between ages of 18 - 25.

So if you started puberty early they could be closed aleardy at age 18.

I either started late or average. But hypothyroidism causes growth plates to stay open longer but no action occurred on them. I need real answers to my question. Your comment is only somewhat related

you base that 1 inch off of averages you have seen. I am not the average, not saying this to be cool, just something I have found to be objectively true with regards to my health and genetics. and 1 inch would be great anyway. My sibling who is 20 had a growth spurt for 0.5 inch within the last few months.
