yeah they do the same thing. tazarotene just does it better in clinical trials. if ur skin baseline is bad and u need to clear pimples and even skin texture u can do tazarotene. if u have good baseline and just want maintenance u can do tret.

tazarotene is more RAR specific. Tretinoin Is more broad.

Tazarotene is better, adding tretinoin will just increase irritation thereby decreasing efficacy
