I stopped going to the library more than a decade ago after getting a Kindle, the place was already deserted by then, very few people would come to borrow books. Even before, when there were more people, it was still a serious atmosphere, people were sober, they didn't talk loud, it just didn't seem like a place where you would hit on girls without looking like a creep.

Yes, I went to those too, back when I was in college, there were more people there, but the girls didn't look innocent and nerdy, they were just average college students, they were there to study and borrow books for the courses, today I think they can get most of the stuff online so they don't need physical books anymore, anyway out of all the places in the campus that was the worst location to approach.....it was still a sober place with quiet people, and it was more acceptable to try and hit on girls in the park, the smoking areas, the bars and restaurants around, etc.
