Real big gains and losses can be made in alts. Yeah. Good luck, picking good ones and timing the exit, it's difficult
Maybe pick an alt niche, to learn all about, so can pick good ones. Examples of niches: gaming, privacy, zklaunchespads, payment solutions, layer 2's, layer 3's, etc...

imo, the useless meme token era is over. Defi maybe also.

No it's not too late. But since the market is more competitive it's harder to mine projects to get off the ground and it's harder to find the right project to invest fiat into.
