Is it worth buying a camera to take good pics of myself for Tinder?

I want to take pictures for Tinder.
I uploaded one shitty selfie taken with my iPhone 7 and I got 60 likes in 3 days which isn’t a completely incel result. I believe I can do better with decent pics.

How much would it cost me to buy a camera that will take pictures of similar quality to whatever the newest iPhone is?
Would I need to spend more than €300?

Nah, i’d feel way too cringe to hire a photographer to take tinder pics of me. I want them to look effortless and not try-hard. I also don’t have friends and definitely not friends who are photographers.

should be good enough, at least for selfies. lighting and angles matter a lot, more than the camera imo. again, if your face is wide and compact enough to still look decent even with lens distortion i wouldn't bother with a professional camera

My face is wide, yeah. One thing I can never get right is lighting. It’s just a matter of luck if it looks good. It’s too dark in the evenings and mornings, if the sun is out it’s too bright etc. I’ve taken great pics in the past but most of the time they look shit because of lighting.

I generally take pictures with my shitty olympus camera from 2007 which I bought second hand. I actually have some decent selfies I took 2 years ago but they’re aspie PSL-tier selfies so I can’t use them

yeah i’ll do that. I think I need to learn at least some basics of photography because sometimes I happen to take very good pics of myself, but most of the time they look aspie as fuck. Lighting is usually what kills me. I just can’t get that right and it’s so annoying. I can take good pics during the summer but never during autumn and winter here in the UK.
