Is it worth extracting two teeth to fix overbite (16)

My orthodontist has told me that he recommends me to get a twin block appliance installed as well as braces to fix my over bite and my front teeth which are slightly facing inwards.

I don't know if its worth extracting the two teeth as I've heard that tooth extraction are bad and makes the pallet smaller but I would like for my overbite to be fixed. Is it worth extracting two teeth?

Extractions aren’t inherently bad, but they are not always necessary. Since a Twin Block is being recommended, that suggests a skeletal Class II correction approach, which often reduces the need for extractions. In growing patients such as you being 16, Twin Block + braces can correct overbite and overjet without pulling teeth, I would ask whether non-extraction options like arch development, elastics, or limited IPR are possible before committing to extractions

I already asked at the visit and he said that it has nothing to do with my problem and with my teeth being extracted the braces and the twin block is free but if I choose not to extract it will have to be payed for would it better for me to get the braces or to just not go through with it??

something about how one of my teeth r missing and that he doesn't know when it will come out which could be in years idk what that has to do with extraction but it could also be because the braces would be payed by the government and other methods such as expansion is too time consuming and costly so they would rather extract which makes the process quicker and cheaper
