Is it worth getting a palate expander?

I measured my palate width and it was 39-40mm im 15 and my next orthodontist appointment is in april so i need answers before then

in width or length?, if thats your width it is very good

Its about 39 or 40mm in width and 32-42mm in length i wasnt sure to stop measuring at the back of the molar or the start

I always heard it widens ur maxilla by spacing ur palate apart just more bullshit then is it?

It widens your maxilla but doesn't really guarantee an attractive face

The reason im asking if its worth widening my maxilla more is because in comparison to my jaw width my zygos and cheekbones would look more prominent if they were wider and make more of that diamond face shape

It could be worth it, I doubt they'll give it to you if your imw is 39 or 40 mm
