Is it worth it to get MSE

I have a somewhat narrow palate and I’ve heard MSE can expand midface and show off some more prominent zygos and I have the option to get MSE so should I or will it make me look worse.

I'm getting MSE, RPHG, Braces soon. From what i know your midpalatal sutures will split, expanding your nasal cavity and the floor to it, improving breathing and potentially fixing breathing issues depending on cause. Furthermore, your maxilla will laterally expand (don't mistake with forward growth), but if you need forward growth, ask if you're applicable for RPHG(usually little extra cost) which is good for young teens but more limited and difficult process for older teens (you likely will still get improvement, but likely 1.5 to 3mm), if not consistent their may be no forward movement. Otherwise, for forward growth you can get BAMP it is 24/7 so it's more effective for older teens but also a lot more expensive. Back to track, the MSE does laterally expand the zygomas. I would recommend Jawhacks video on MSE and his vid on MSE and RPHG if interetsed to go down that route. Additionally, if you're a late teen and want RPHG with MSE, consider ALT - RAMEC its just a dif technique of using the MSE which when paired with RPHG can yield 2 to 4mm of forward growth (increased relative to normal procedure). Otherwise you can even ask for TADs on mandible for constant force, allowing for more forwards growth; may be paired with RPHG. NOTE: BE SURE TO CONSULT WITH ORTHODONTIST ON THESE TREATMENTS AS VARIED INDIVIDUALS CAN HAVE VARIED TREATMENTS. IF you have a high budget you may even consider FME which is fully bone born, essentially eliminating the risk of tooth tipping. FME is basically the jext generation MSE; many people consider it an improvement but i havent done much research on it, it is quite a bit more expensive though. Oh and btw you will likely get braces after any treatment with MSE.
