realistically how much growth would i lose by doing a 300 cal deficit at 16? i dont want to look like a fat fuck this summer
 
you would only lose potential height if you are under 8-9% bodyfat, anything over the body will use as fat to energise bodily functions including height growth

this is an interesting statement, the only question i have is why do people suggest eating in a caloric surplus in puberty to maximize growth if growth can be maximized while being in a deficit?
 
u shouldn't be doing deficit if ur still growing, might damage it, 300 calorie deficit isn't necessarily bad in most cases but if ur really still growing u could consider eating at a maintenance (no superavit or deficit)
