Thinking of going to China to teach English.
Can expect a salary of around £20,000 - £24,000 after tax, with free housing

Before I lost my job, I was earning around £22,000 - £23,000 after tax in UK, living with parents. I don’t pay for any of the household food etc

I could save a few more thousand each year living here with my parents than in China, but I want a new experience. Also, atm I have no job and have no idea what I want/could get career-wise here

So at least if I go and teach in China I’ll try something, and if it’s shit I can just come back after a year or whatever

China mogs, and wages are higher
23 is too young to move out to live in your home country and spend half your salary on rent, but that’s not the case here. I could save a decent amount. Also, I already have around £90k

Look if you’re outgoing and thrive in new environments go for it you’re young

Visit first and see if you actually like the place, but if it checks out and it's what you want, do it
Career-wise, it's better than working some low skill job for a year in the YooKay, and getting out of whatever bubble you're in tends to help a lot

The only options to slay being gooks would drive me crazy but then again jbw in China is strong and living away from parents at 23 is ultimately the best choice you don't get much of your youth to experience life and travel so try it
