Is it worth starve maxxing and losing weight right now FOR ME

Im 16 and RIGHT NOW am 78kg or 171lbs.

I am very concerned and dont like my weight at all 😤

I was around 70-72 kg or 154-158 lbs 6 months ago

Like wtf do I do. I know not eating and losing weight is bad for puberty. even a calorie deficit will be detrimental

Options for right NOW

  • Starve maxx and cut down to anywhere in the 70-74 kg or 154-163 lbs range
OR
  • Keep doing what im doing just eating normally and potentially gain the weight back or just stay the same. And then wait until im done with puberty where it wont matter and just lose the weight then


IM SO INSECURE about this shit holllyyyy. Im not even that fat 🤔

Question: Is there a way to be losing weight yet still not having that process affect my growth?
 
Wait until you finish puberty first id say because your body needs the nutrition to grow properly

check your growth plates if you can and also if you're not giga manlet then start leanmaxing already

Do NOT "Starvemaxx". You should continue to eat a controlled energy surplus of 200 kilocalories to give your body the materials to grow. Make sure to get 8+ hours of sleep per day.

You can lose fat after you are 18+ with an energy deficit with high protein. Starvemaxxing sounds like complete starvation and zero kilocalories per day. That will lead to skeletal muscle loss.

im 6ft, 184-184.5cm morning height. I want more tho. my growth plates are most likely open . ive checked last year but I need to check them again for sure. i want to reach 188cm or 6'2 hopefully 🤞

there's so many threads upon this, but yes. dont starvemax, it's bad for your body and extreme weight loss is generally more likely to lead to weight regain. have a safe caloric defic and you'll be good

i dont really care about muscles and shit, maybe if i will after puberty then ill do that. but if not then starvemaxxing

right now? a cal defic, but will it not lead to mineral defficinces? or not enough calories for me. especially since im active. from what the people so far have replied on here ill just stick to my diet im doing right now. just eating the right amount of food if not more

a cal defic isnt automatically bad but if it’s too large it can lead to nutrient or mineral deficiencies

Skeletal muscle and non-fat mass are the main contributors to your basal metabolic rate. Losing skeletal muscle means that your metabolism will decrease, so you will not be able to eat as much energy, and that will make it harder to keep the fat off later. You might rebound.

Well it depends, if you starve early enough, malnutrition will cause you to not grow bones. So yea it technically can cause you to be recessed. But in my case it probabaly won’t
