Dude how old are you? Whether you are an independent worker or employed, you need to do taxes. If you're employed at a traditional w4 position, the government will literally pay you money back. An independent position "making money online" (dumbass retard) you have to pay significantly higher taxes and it's not automatically set aside so tax day becomes much more of a hassle and financial burden.
