Is L.A. a good place to live in ?

Never been there but I have always been attracted by the scenery and relaxed beach and hiking vibe. And all high status people live there. Or is it just as much as a shithole as paris; london; chicago ?

I live here and the answer is no. I wish I could live somewhere else but this is where the jobs for my field are

San Diego is a nicer place to live. LA is a nice place to visit thats it.

LA is huge area, No doubt there are some nice suburban neighborhoods. Downtown LA is a shithole. I spent a day and night downtown right before the pandemic. Homeless living on the streets every where, a post apocalyptic landscape of Asians, blacks and Mexican, like 30% white. It is probably worse now.
