yes if you eat less than you burn, you will lose WEIGHT, some of it will be fat, but also a proportion of it would also be muscle.
This obviously isn’t ideal, even if you believe gym is cope. Gym combined with a caloric deficit and high protein diet will prevent your muscle loss on a deficit. so is it pointless/counter intuitive to leanmax without going gym at least 3x a week?

Dont remember where I saw this but there was a study where participants who ate as little as .5g/lb in protein didn’t lose any muscle as long as they kept training, you could probably find it by searching something along those lines
