Im studying russian and I've become B2 fluency. Went to visit Russian girl last week who lives in Germany. German is much harder for me than Russian tbh. Russian js much more interesting culturally.

He himself said that 30% of his brain power goes to thinking while speaking unlike in english where 100% is his natural speaking abilities.

well i still cant believe the implication that a language cant be learned on the same level as a native. For example, i learned english from 10 until now (8 yrs) through immersion only. And by like year 1.5 i started watching more english content and i was near fluent. Most of my peers have either learned english in the same way, or have additionally put in extra effort in learning words, grammar, etc. I can say that im probably better at english than anyone i have ever seen IRL from my country. My main goal is to simply get good enough at the language to the point where i can easily consume content in it. From then on, with the amount of rotting im partaking in, i will be getting closer and closer to native level as the time goes by.
Most people can seemingly never get to native level english by only immersing in their own country, in the timeframe in which i did it. Which is why i have more faith in myself.

What im trying to say is, if i can accidently get to native level english in a seemingly top percentile timeframe, with absolutely no effort, i can get to native level japanese at some point through concentrated effort in the beginning. And i can get to "fluent" levels in a good timeframe as well. Matt might be intelligent, but im confident that i have insane pattern recognition and visual intelligence (good at math, programming, etc)

Exactly. The JLPT N1 doesn't even prove basic fluency since it doesnt have a speaking portion, it just proves you can comprehend japanese which while impressive is not the hardest part of language learning. Understanding is one thing but the hardest thing will always be producing (in the case of language learning --- talking)
