lefort 1 ccw rotation allows you to advance the lower jaw more. often times it's necessary even if the upper incisor is in a perfectly good position

It is rare that only a single jaw needs surgery. If one jaw is deformed the other one will also be deformed. 90% of cases need correcting of both jaws. Even if only bottom/top seems underdeveloped.

Now, correcting does not necessarily mean advancement, it could mean, rotation, fixing of the cant, downgraft or whatever the patient's need is.
