Should it be measured little bit below lips instead from philitrum? Im asking this because if someone has thin lips and have lip lift. His lips will get bigger and philtrum lower. In that case would it be like cheating if you measure it from you shorter new philitrum?

Are you retarded?

Surprised you're not a Graycel

Mid face starts at gabella and ends at anterior nasal spine

Yes i think lips are part of the midface, if you increase someone lips the midface looks shorter. But there are people who dont, i remember a guy who used a different measurement where he would measure using the encounter of the lips

Upper lift height isn't really what plays a role in midface shortening and midface ratio, its the mouth itself that plays this role. Sometimes you can see people with very large mouths vertically, with midface ratio of 1:1 but who still seem to you to have a long midface ratio

this is why liplift looks comical most of the time and ugly, like the mouth of the pic to the right of your thread op

If lips and phili is lower face then why its measured from philitrum and not nose tip?

good question

theres actually two definitions of the midface, one going to the bottom of the nose and the other to the upper lip

why is it measured to the lips? Youre trying to mimick FWHR combined with IPD to see if the face looks elongated. Its just unfortunate naming because of the 2 definitions

But on a side note midface ratio is useless you can see everything from IPD, ESR and FWHR which you have to measure anyways

If for example u look at this guy and Delon, both have 1:1 midface ratio

But Delon seems to have a shorter midface though because his global mouth is higher

its 0.94 from the center

here its 0.85

Interesting. Its like small nose and long phili or long nose and small phili. If you have both Long nose and phili your midface would be below 1.1.. if you have small nose and phili you will have that small face syndrome. . But what if someone have big pihli, long nose and big lips?

It depends on the width of the face and the distance between the eyes

Chico has a long nose, a long philtrum, and a full lips

alain delon dont have a 1 midface and i doubt this guy have as well, i show here how they never really have a 1 midface when measured autistically precise https://looksmax.org/threads/why-some-people-have-longish-midfaces-0-9-to-0-98-but-dont-look-like.628226/#post-10084861

you don't know how to calculate the midface ratio.
im not getting 1 too btw. Getting .96-.97 for both.

i really dont know what you mean by global mouth but i believe delon seems to have a shorter midface ratio because he has a shorter nose with longer philtrum in comparison to your guy

longer nose with shorter philtrum looks like longer midface ratio even though its not.

or maybe the upper lip from your guy is giving the illusion of long nose because it shortens the philtrum being so thick
