Not sure if it's just me but I feel like standards for looks have risen. Back in 2023 when looksmaxxing was trending on tiktok, MTNs of that era would likely be considered a LTN by today's standard.
Take Chico for example. In early days of tiktok looksmaxxing nearly all greycels on tiktok widely considered him to be a psl god, whereas now the same people would probably rate him to be barely CL.
Some of it's probably looksflation. Being constantly exposure to elite-tier faces, gymmaxxed builds, surgery, etc. But we’re also just more educated now. People know what to look for: midface ratio, canthal tilt, jawline and allat. Things no one cared about pre-2020.
