if anything women have lower set cheekbones than men because it's relative to the nose, and they have shorter faces.

everyone's cheekbones are more or less in the same location, some just appear lower because they're flat and undefined.

Why do people make these terms up?

they don't understand anatomy.

the set point of your cheekbones is determined by the position of your zygomatic arch relative to your nose.

there is absolutely nobody whose arch is located a whole lot lower than this, it doesn't deviate much at all.

there's more variance than that, it's too hard to explain but essentially for cheekbones to look high set most of the bone density needs to be in the top part, even if they're vertically long they will still look high provided that is the case.

these are long cheekbones but their peak density is still near the eyes.
