Is MARPE a looksmin?

I see a lot of ppl on tiktok getting botched by massive 10+ mm MARPE expansions, would a modest 3-5mm expansion make me look uncanny? for reference 37mm palate.

you need an expansion if you are 37mm so yes you should get one either fme or mse (preferably fme if available) both are good

aim for 45mm+ so 8mm expansion

dont think so no and even if it did youd fucking need it anyways cause your palate is objectively narrow and fme/mse is the best option

im at 40mm and im looking into an mse provider in my area

Lol fuck no dont get any expansion. I also dont think any ortho would be willing to. Your palate size is almost within the ideal range theres literally no reason to get an expansion

so just bimax? My fwhr is 1.78, slightly narrow midface, but lower jaw is slightly narrow too.

marpe doesnt fix lower jaw. i also wanted marpe cause my face has all the great features but cause of my maxila being trasversqlly narrow it minimazises zygoma projection. but im kinda coming to the conclusion its not worth it. look at all the mqrpe cases includin bwython on tiktok. they have all experienced philtrum lengthening as well as midface lengthening. in some cases theres a win, but depending on the anatomy you could get positives and negatives, always. because marpe also does cw rotation. im a hypodivergent but i cant get marpe cquse cw rotation would fuck up my gonial thats already on the higher end. so do your research, weight things out, then go on with your decision

The anterior part of the palate gets expanded way to much in proportion to the posterior and creates an uncanny U shaped palate which looks like a paranthropus. I'm proprably going to skip marpe and just get a custom bimax in a few years.

i saw you replied to my post. i mean youre kinda right. but id only have to get a lefort, not bimax since my mandible is already advanced enough to sustain a bigger sna.
