You will probably be closer to 35/40 by the time you finish everything. You can get bottlenecked very heavily when applying to residencies and med school. Furthermore, The stress is very real, you will struggle getting enough sleep. dont expect anything less than 50 hours a week, especially as a resident.

Whod want their prime to be in their 30s sure if thats what u wanna do, then do it but I feel like if your best choice is slaving ur life away for 100 to 200k a year then it wont hurt to make that your secondary option obviously something u still accomplish, but you should prolly try unconventional ways to make money eg

One of my friends went to china and is in med im pretty sure hes gonna be in school for 8 to 10 years or sum shit hes goes to clubs, skis and does col shit but dude said hes still depressed asf because of the work load in school

it's law of equivalent exchange unless you're already born with a lot of things. if you're born attractive and with a rich family you honestly won't have to worry that much about anything in your life, but if you're born ltn-mtn with a lower-middle class family, the way to get money is honestly either to sacrifice something in your life (time, energy, and thus youth) for it or to break free of the wage and try getting money non-linearly.

also btw med school used to be much much easier. so if you go to the doctor in the US now they'll likely tell you how the MCAT and med school wasn't that bad, but truth be told the landscape of going into med (in the US) now is much harder than it was say 40 years ago.

if you are seriously considering a high paying job in med (which is what i'm doing right now) you'll have to realize that there is a union out there artificially restricting the supply of doctors so that preexisting doctors can still be paid high wages. its kind of fucked up but if you do your research on UAPD (Union of American Physicians and Dentists) you'll realize the way they operate is similar to the diamond industry - artificially restrict supply so that the demand only goes to a small group of people (which is also why doctors are paid so high in the US specifically and not anywhere else).

you can view this as a double edged sword though. on one hand, it's ball-bustingly hard to become a doctor and tbh it's only gonna get harder. on the other hand, if you are able to make it to the other side, barely anybody is able to actually become a doctor in the future so your salary is only going to go higher and higher since less people are able to become doctors.

imo med school is only worth it if you genuinely want to become a doctor or study medicine like you will get fucked so hard in med school and probably give up unless you have motivations beyond money.If you wanted good income or to move to asia especially hong kong/singapore or other rich asian place and you are doing this for money purposes just do finance, business management, and move there for a startup or as a financial analyst if you have genuine talent. Either way its not going to be easy its just med school is objectively harder.
