Everyone’s experience and how often does it need to be used to built up a tolerance and fuck around with natural melatonin

Started with 2 mg, ended with 10. Tried it 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 2 hours before bed. Never helped me fall asleep, but did make me more tired in the morning.

sounds shit then 😂

It works for me, 100%. It gives you that drowsy "need to sleep" feeling within like 15 to 30 minutes.

Personally, I built up tolerance over time. And like a prize-idiot I've gradually ramped it up over the course of a year so I now require 30mg to feel the same effect. This is an obscenely high dose compared to what a doctor would recommend and I'm gonna have to slowly taper back off it to be on the safe side.

For the first week or two, I'd feel quite groggy when I'd wake up. That usually wore off by midday, though, and after that I’d really notice the benefits of having had a proper night’s sleep. Now, within an hour of starting my day, my mind is clear.

I’d only use it when you know you can get a full night of sleep.

Just don’t confuse it with a sleeping pill that simply "knocks you out". For me, it feels much more natural than that. It gives me the same sort of feeling I get when I’ve stayed up too late... heavy eyes, yawning, and a strong urge to go to bed. A couple of times if I have stress on my mind about something whilst trying to sleep it hasn't worked. But overall, it's improved my sleep substantially.

Also - wrong section :lul:

I thought there is no tolerance to melatonin
Only natural production suppressed

If you mean, why did I have to ramp up dosage, it's because it was losing effectiveness (for me). I learned about melatonin from Bryan Johnson and he said it's a good regulator of sleep you can take and just it continues to work. But for me, that just hasn't been the case. The "drowsy" effect was becoming markedly less over time. Each time I ramped up the dosage it came back.

If you mean, why am I going to taper off slowly, it's because I'm on a stupidly high dose and it's just common sense to taper off a supplement you're taking way too much of. Presumably the receptors or whatever get affected by melatonin have been overwhelemd and they are now desensitized. Maybe that's not the case, but for various reasons I will be tapering off slowly

you don’t build a significant tolerance with melatonin
